OEKO-TEX® STeP stands for “Sustainable Textile and Leather Production” and is an independent certification system for production facilities along the textile and leather supply chains that ensure and transparently communicate their environmentally friendly manufacturing processes and socially responsible working conditions.
STeP ensures a comprehensive analysis and evaluation of production facilities along the entire supply chain by examining all necessary aspects of sustainable production. The six modules of the STeP certification include:
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized as the world’s leading standard for processing textiles made from organically produced natural fibres. At a high level, it defines environmental requirements along the entire textile production chain and at the same time demands compliance with social criteria.
Only textile products that consist of at least 70% organically produced natural fibers can be certified according to GOTS. All chemical additives used, such as colorants and auxiliaries, must meet certain environmental and toxicological criteria.
The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is an independent testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of processing. The pollutant tests include legally prohibited or regulated substances as well as parameters for health protection. In their entirety, the requirements go well beyond existing national laws.
The OEKO-TEX® tests for harmful substances are always based on the actual use of the textile. The more intensive the skin contact of a product, the stricter the human-ecological standards it must meet.
We are certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which means that all components of an article meet the required criteria without exception – in addition to the outer fabric, this also includes the sewing threads, interlinings, prints etc. as well as non-textile accessories such as buttons.
The Nomite mark is an internationally registered trademark of the European Down & Feather Association (EDFA). The Nomite mark identifies bedding suitable for people allergic to house dust mites.
The down-proof fabric prevents dander and house dust mites from penetrating and thus creates a real “mite barrier”. In addition, the use of down and feather bedding causes temperature fluctuations that create unfavorable living conditions for house dust mites. House dust mites prefer an even climate, for example when using synthetic fabrics.
All our fabrics for down products are NOMITE certified and therefore suitable for people allergic to house dust mites.
These certifications document that the hygiene and cleanliness requirements – in accordance with the European standard DIN EN 12935 – have been met.
Only detergents that protect the environment and preserve the naturalness of the feathers and down are used during processing. At the end of the product life cycle, the filling material can be easily composted.
Manufacturers who use the Daunasan® label have committed themselves to having their products regularly checked by an independent test laboratory for compliance with hygiene and purity requirements.
The Traumpass is a seal of quality that distinguishes bedding filled with down and feathers. The products marked with this label must be filled with feathers and down of the two highest classes I and II according to EN 12934. Furthermore, all raw materials used for Traumpass products come entirely from slaughtered animals – as by-products of poultry meat production.
The “Traumpass-DIN-Geprüft” label, which is sewn into the respective product, makes it possible to determine exactly which company manufactured the product by means of an individual, piece-specific test number. The traceability of the filled down and feathers is fully documented by means of records such as delivery bills, invoices, tax and import certificates. It ends at the abattoir from which the raw material was obtained. This guarantees that no goods from live animals are used in Traumpass-sealed products. Regular audits are carried out by the certification organization DINCERTCO, Berlin, to check whether the label users are complying with these requirements.
The “Traumpass DIN-Geprüft” certificate is only awarded by the certification organization DINCERTCO, Berlin, once the relevant evidence has been provided that the product quality and traceability requirements have been met. The “Traumpass DIN-Geprüft” seal label may only be used from this point onwards.
The DOWNPASS 2017 is the zero-tolerance standard for the control of breeding and exclusion of live plucking and stuffing and aims to promote the proper keeping of geese and ducks on farms worldwide. The same applies to the responsible extraction of feathers and down as by-products of the meat industry. Their traceability must be comprehensively documented so that the supply chain becomes transparent. The composition of the filling material is also checked. The Standard’s instruments consist of on-site inspections in the supply chain, document checks, plausibility checks and laboratory analyses. We are also audited.
