Reconstruction of the bed feather factory in Lörrach under the new company name ‘OBB Oberbadische Bettfedernfabrik GmbH’.
1965
Purchase of the 32,000 m2 plot of land in Lörrach Tumringen.
With 16,000 m2 of production area and a high level of investments, OBB becomes the most modern bed feather factory in Europe and specialises in the manufacture of down and feather-filled bedding.
1967
Regina®, the first worldwide patented triple chamber pillow, is launched on the market.
1980
An in-house laboratory is set up at OBB, which is later certified by the EDFA (European Down & Feather Association).
The lab features state-of-the-art technology and has been participating in collaborative testing for many years.
1985
Erich Schweigert, who joined OBB as an apprentice in 1956, becomes the owner of the company.
1990
Launch of the renowned brand ‘Northern Goose’.
Associated with the declaration of consent from the Canadian government as the only German company in the industry to use the maple leaf in its logo.
1996
Takeover of Balette Bettwarenfabrik Basel AG, the oldest bedding factory in Switzerland.
2000
For its 100th anniversary, OBB presents the longest duvet in the world (100 meters), earning it an entry in the Guinness Book of Records.
2005
Launch of Climasphere, the first and only four-season duvet in a single duvet.
Climasphere’s patented stitching creates a difference in warmth of over 33% when the blanket is turned over.
2010
Ingrid Schweigert is appointed managing director of OBB and Balette alongside Erich Schweigert.
2012
OBB expands its product line to include natural hair and fibre products and is now a provider of a full range of products.
2013
Management restructuring of OBB.
Erich Schweigert withdraws from the management of OBB. Bastian Roscheck is appointed managing director of OBB and Balette alongside Ingrid Schweigert. Bastian Roscheck and Petra Schweigert become associates of OBB and Balette. Erich Schweigert is in charge of operations at the property management company IMES Grundstücksverwaltung GmbH.
OBB becomes a premium partner of the Black Forest Tourism Board (Schwarzwald Tourismus GmbH).
2014
OBB receives the 2014 Top Hotel Star AWARD.
2017
Launch of the BLACK FOREST premium collection.
OBB receives Downpass certification in 2017.
2018
OBB obtains the exclusive license of the Bavarian administration of public castles, gardens and lakes (Bayerische Schlösserverwaltung) for the OBB Schloss Neuschwanstein collection.
OBB takes over the exclusive sales of ‘MEDIFLOW – the original water pillow’ for the DACH region.
