Which duvet size is right for you?

135 × 200, 155 × 220 or 200 × 200 cm? Here’s how to find a duvet size that suits your height and sleeping habits.

The right duvet size depends on you, not just on the dimensions of your mattress. The key factors are your height, how much freedom of movement you like at night, and whether the two of you use one shared duvet or two separate ones. Even a little extra length or width can make a big difference to how you sleep.

What sizes does OBB offer?

In the current OBB range, depending on the model, you’ll find sizes including 135 × 200 cm, 155 × 220 cm and 200 × 200 cm. Not every size is available for every Duvet. You should therefore check the options directly on the product page. The following examples are intended as a guide only; they do not represent a fixed correspondence with body size.

SizeTypical applicationHere’s what you should look out for
135 × 200 cmClassic single blanketIs the length and side clearance enough for you?
155 × 220 cmMore length and width for one personGreat if you like to wrap yourself up or want more legroom
200 × 200 cmA wide duvet for two, or plenty of spaceIs it long enough for both of you and to suit your sleeping habits?

When is it worth having a longer duvet?

If your feet tend to end up exposed under a 200-cm duvet, or if you pull the duvet right up to your shoulders, an extra-long duvet might be more comfortable. Also bear in mind your personal freedom of movement: if you often pull the duvet around you at night, you might benefit from extra width.

A bed that is 180 cm wide does not automatically require a 200-cm Duvet. Some couples prefer to sleep under two single duvets so that neither of them pulls the duvet away from the other. Others prefer a single, wide duvet to share. Both solutions can work well; the important thing is that the duvet fits your sleeping habits at the sides and at the foot of the bed.

How to find your size

Lay your current duvet flat and think about where it’s too small. If it’s too short, focus on the length first. If it slips off at the sides, look for one that’s wider. Then compare the measurements with your duvet cover: the duvet and the cover should fit together properly so that the filling doesn’t slip out of place.

At OBB, you can specifically Duvets measuring 135 × 200 cm and Duvets measuring 200 × 200 cm Take a look. At individual products, such as the 125 years of fibre duvet, you’ll find other available sizes. Then choose the one that suits you Heat level – Size alone does not indicate how warm a duvet is.

If you’re torn between two sizes, a simple question can help: would you prefer a compact duvet, or would you rather have more space to snuggle up in? The answer is often more helpful than a rigid size chart.
