Our quality marks

OEKO-TEX® STeP

OEKO-TEX® STeP stands for ‘Sustainable Textile and Leather Production’ and is an independent certification scheme for production facilities along the textile and leather supply chains that wish to ensure and transparently communicate their environmentally friendly manufacturing processes and socially responsible working conditions.

STeP ensures a comprehensive analysis and assessment of production sites throughout the entire supply chain by examining all the necessary aspects of sustainable production. The six modules of the STeP certification comprise:

  • Chemicals Management
  • Environmental performance
  • Environmental management
  • Social Responsibility
  • Health and Safety at Work
  • Quality Management

NOMITE

The Nomite mark is an internationally registered trade mark of the European Down & Feather Association (EDFA). The Nomite mark identifies bedding suitable for people with house dust mite allergies.

The down-proof fabric prevents skin flakes and dust mites from penetrating, thus acting as a genuine ‘mite barrier’. Furthermore, the use of down and feather bedding causes temperature fluctuations, which create unfavourable living conditions for dust mites. Dust mites prefer a consistent climate, such as that found when using synthetic bedding.

All our fabrics for down products are NOMITE-certified and are therefore suitable for people with house dust mite allergies.

OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is an independent testing and certification system for raw, intermediate and finished textile products at all stages of processing. The tests for harmful substances cover, amongst other things, substances that are prohibited or regulated by law, as well as parameters relating to health protection. Taken as a whole, the requirements go significantly beyond existing national legislation.

OEKO-TEX® tests for harmful substances are always based on the actual use of the textile. The more direct contact a product has with the skin, the stricter the human-ecological requirements it must meet.

We are certified to the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, which means that all components of an item, without exception, meet the required criteria – so, in addition to the outer fabric, this includes, for example, the sewing threads, interlinings, prints, etc., as well as non-textile accessories such as buttons.

Daunasan®

These awards confirm that the requirements for hygiene and cleanliness – in accordance with the European standard DIN EN 12935 – have been met.

Only detergents that are environmentally friendly and preserve the natural qualities of the feathers and down are used during processing. At the end of the product’s life cycle, the filling material can be easily composted.

Manufacturers who use the Daunasan® mark have undertaken to have their products regularly tested by an independent testing laboratory to ensure they meet hygiene and purity requirements.

Dream Pass

The Traumpass is a quality mark awarded to bedding filled with down and feathers. Products bearing this mark must be filled with feathers and down of the two highest grades, I and II, in accordance with EN 12934. Furthermore, all raw materials used in Traumpass products come exclusively from slaughtered animals – as by-products of poultry meat production.

The ‘Traumpass – DIN-certified’ label, which is sewn into each product, features a unique, item-specific verification number that allows the manufacturer to be identified with certainty. The traceability of the down and feathers used is fully documented through records such as delivery notes, invoices, tax certificates and import certificates. It ends at the abattoir from which the raw material was sourced. This guarantees that no material from live animals is used in products bearing the ‘Traumpass’ seal. Compliance by licence holders with these requirements is monitored through regular audits of their premises by the certification body DINCERTCO, Berlin.

Only once the relevant documentation has been provided to show that the requirements for product quality and traceability have been met will the ‘Traumpass DIN-Certified’ certificate be awarded by the certification body DINCERTCO, Berlin. Only from this point onwards may the ‘Traumpass DIN-Geprüft’ seal label be used.

DOWNPASS 2017

DOWNPASS 2017 is the zero-tolerance standard for monitoring rearing practices and eliminating live plucking and force-feeding, and aims to promote the proper husbandry of geese and ducks in agricultural livestock farming worldwide. The same applies to the responsible sourcing of feathers and down as by-products of the meat industry. Their traceability must be comprehensively documented to ensure the supply chain is transparent. In addition, the composition of the filling material is tested. The standard’s tools comprise on-site inspections throughout the supply chain, document checks and plausibility checks, as well as laboratory analyses. We, too, have been audited.
